Dr. Jung-min Kwon is a professor at the Seoul National University of Education in South Korea. She received her M.S in Educational Communications & Technology and Ph.D in Special Education from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a mother of two school-aged children. The greatest inspirations for her books come from her children. She uses her professional knowledge in education to design and write books for children.

Her translation of Cho Nam-joo's Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 was longlisted for the 2020 National Book Award for Translated Literature. She is the recipient of the Daesan Foundation Translation Grant and a three-time recipient of the Literature Translation Institute of Korea Grant. She is based in Nova Scotia.
