Robin Lapre is a physician turned animal advocate, with a particular interest in helping the homeless animals that find themselves in shelters. After years of volunteering at various shelters and animal-related nonprofits, Robin became convinced that we needed to educate children at an early age so that they would learn how to be good pet owners. How can we blame people for not knowing, if they were never taught? In 2024, Lapre wrote and self-published her first book on animal welfare for children, Doggie Do's and Don'ts as Told by Cadence the Dog. Due to the positive response, Lapre committed herself to writing a collection of children's books that teach the critical topics of responsible pet ownership at a level that children and their families can understand and enjoy.
