Susanna Lee is a writer from the rural area in northern New Jersey where drivers stop to give bears crossing the road the right of way. Her work has been published in brevitas, First Literary Review - East, Sensations Magazine, The Red Wheelbarrow, The Stillwater Review, The World According to Twitter, Voices From Here 2, and her first book of poetry, Sunrise Mountain, 2015, which is now out of print. The volumes of Lee's collected works published in 2021 by Rose Mason Press give the reader a cubist view of the poet's vision. Snow Balls consists of short stories, many autobiographical. Great Blue Heron is a collection of 5 7 5 haiku arranged in mini-chapbooks on various themes, such as pop culture, nursery rhymes, and art history-and with a bonus: haiku suitable for including in greeting cards on every special occasion. Lee's poems sonnet length and shorter appear in Twisted Carrot, poems longer than one page are in God Laughs, and her one-page poems are in My Husband's Roses. Lee's family recipes are preserved in Marie's Cake, which includes a section of instructions in kitchen basics for new cooks. Lee celebrates her love of music in bringing to print a newly-discovered manuscript written eighty years ago by a friend's uncle, Jerome Bengis, Genius in 9 Symphonies: How Beethoven Reinvented Music, to which she added an Introduction and Afterword.
