"The aim of this volume is to address a number of topics that are central to feminism for the 21st century. Hence the book has been crafted as a set of thematically interconnected essays, which can be read together or individually. While the book contains topics standard to most books on feminism such as feminist critique of the history of ideas, the sciences, and the continuation of oppression and violence, it also contains several arguments tailored to very specific questions and conflicts feminism may face in the current century. Some of these include a call for more acute analyses of the work of historical figures like Aristotle in the interest of a better understanding of the enduring character of patriarchal institutions and the relationship between such institutions and violence toward women, girls, and indigenous, and/or minority peoples.".
