Lieutenant Dee Cruise, USCG, arrives to take over a small Coast Guard rescue station. She meets the senior NCO, and forbidden romance begins to bud. At the same time, the two experience a number of adventures, including the sinking of their boat by drug runners and a marine board of inquiry to determine the cause of the sinking. The officer running the inquiry is Dee's boss and he tries to use the inquiry to his advantage over Dee. There is a final confrontation, and that officer is arrested. The romance between Dee and the NCO is finally consummated and ends happily ever after.
