The Authors: Prof. Dr. Barbara Lewandowska-Tomaszczyk is a graduate of the University of Lodz, where she holds the position of professor ordinarius and Chair of English Language. Her research interests are primarily in semantics and pragmatics of natural language, corpus linguistics and their applications in translation studies and lexicography. Prof. Dr. John Osborne is a graduate of the Universities of Cambridge and Grenoble, and is presently Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Savoie, Chambéry, where he teaches English language and linguistics. His main research interests are in the role of explicit grammatical knowledge in second language learning, and in the practical applications of ICT for enhancing language awareness.
Drs Frits Schulte is a lecturer in British and American literary studies and in the methodology of teaching literature of the English Department of Fontys Universities (Tilburg, the Netherlands). His special interest is in developing ICT materials for the teaching of literature and culture in secondary schools. He is also the manager of the Fontys Centre for Educational Technology and active as an ICT-consultant for schools and teacher training colleges.
