The work with the cultural implication of Miao's plastic arts as the starting point and the fine arts and cultural anthropology as the main line, combined with the contemporary research methods of ethnology, sociology, psychology and semiotics, comprehensively collects the information and related documents of plastic arts through field investigation (collect visual intangible cultural heritage, summarize historical origin of local conditions and customs, myths and legends, geographical environment and religious belief and review the evolution of exchange and fusion into foreign culture). With the intersection of fine arts and anthropology as the main line of research, the existing situation of Miao's folk arts and the cultural value of plastic arts symbols are explored combined with the research on semiotics and ethnology.
