For the last several years, Gaira Bell has been the outsider. In an effort not to draw attention to herself, she has chosen to keep her head down and assert all of her efforts into going unnoticed through life. Unfortunately, these efforts had earned her the nickname the Castle Ghost. She hated her little nickname, but even more she hated the necessity of it, but it would not do to gain the notice of certain people. But when a group of men returned home wounded and the castle physician is away, she finds herself the only one with the knowledge to take care of them, which brings her to the notice of people she would rather remain invisible to.
