Ed Linz grew up on a farm in Kentucky. Following graduation from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1965, he spent 20 years in the Submarine Force and was Commanding Officer of the nuclear ballistic missile submarine, USS KAMEHAMEHA (SSBN-642). He holds Master's degrees in Economics from Christ Church, Oxford University, and in Secondary Education from George Mason University. Following retirement from the Navy, Linz taught high school Physics and cosched a championship girl's cross country team. He is the author of five books and over 1000 weekly columns. Ed currently lives with his wife, Sharon, in northwest Msine, snd winters in Virginia.
He is extremely grateful to have been the recipient of a life-saving heart transplant operation in 1994.
