Kevin Rush Locke is a native of Boston and of Irish descent. For the last decade, he has lived in Washington, D.C., where he is developing a business called Curragh Colours Photography. His fascination with the photograph began in the cellar of his boyhood home, where he printed photographs with his two brothers using a light bulb. That process was common then. He has not put down the camera since.Locke has lived in Jamaica, Ireland, and Italy.
Those diverse environments inspired him to photograph the natural and built environments, and, of course, the people. While living in Rome, he maintained a darkroom in the Vatican and produced a corpus of black-and-white work entitled Dialogo col Divino or Dialogue with the Divine, by capturing the exciting interplay of light and shadow, landscape and architecture, people and the Divine. Dialogo col Divino went to Florence, Rome, and New York in one-person exhibitions. With an educational background in communications, art history, theology, and philosophy, Kevin is always engaged in seeing more deeply, a powerful process of participating in what is seen and unseen.A website is forthcoming in early 2017, where photographs will be available for purchase, as well as more books on Ireland and Italy.
