This is a set including all 4 student's editions (with spiral binding). A.S.K. refers to Analyze. Support. Know. When we read with comprehension, we analyze a text or topic using critical thinking skills.
When we think with skill, we support a main idea or claim with evidence and logical reasoning. When we write with a plan, we know how to map out and write paragraphs and essays for different purposes. This one-year, literature-based, language arts curriculum for grades 3-6 promotes growth in these reading, thinking, and writing skills, teaches students what questions to ASK themselves, and empowers students to become thoughtful, independent readers and writers. Book 1 includes Units 1 and 2 which cover problem/solution and cause/effect. Book 2 includes Units 3 - 5 which cover main idea and details, persuasive writing, and notetaking. Book 3 includes Units 6-7 which cover character analysis and compare/contrast. Book 4 includes Units 8-10 which cover narrative writing, theme, and the friendly letter. This set includes the Student's Editions.
