There have been two kidnappings in the town of New Falls. The mayor has warned Sheriff Barry Banes that if he doesn't make some headway on his investigations soon he will be calling in the FBI. When the child of a friend disappears a respected minister becomes a person of interest. Sheriff Banes feels sure that he knows more than he is telling. With only a bit of circumstantial evidence he asks a judge for a search warrant. The judge refuses to issue a warrant saying that he needs more evidence. Sheriff Banes feels that time is of the essence to save the child. He needs more evidence, but to do that he has to break the law.

Elliot Barnett feels that God has chosen him for a mission. To do this he must enlist the help of two people he barely knows to face an evil that is much greater than he could have dreamed.
