Greg Townsend lives in a small Ohio town which was known for its football dynasties in the past. Several years have past since the town has competed at the state level. Greg feels he can provide the spark to raise the level of play regaining the football's glory days. He is very aggressive and has made many enemies. Among them is one of his assistant coaches, Harry Wells. Greg has also had some martial problems with his wife, Veronica. He is very competitive and is seeking to advance his career to impress his wife and her family. This has led too many disputes with others.

Greg has been murdered and found hanged in the locker room at the school. The question is who did it. Detective Mitch Morrow has to determine who the killer is. He has many suspects who do not always have a good alibi. He discovers some suspicious relationships between many of the suspects and some secrets that they wanted to keep quiet. There are many secrets and lies that go beyond domestic betrayal and that the real killer may be hiding behind a wall of silence that could send the wrong person to prison.
