Matthew Mackenzie has read countless medieval fiction and nonfiction books. Several times, he has experienced the thrill of going to see jousting and swordfighting at Medieval Times events, which gave him ideas for this series of books. He has also studied swordfighting at its deepest level. Matthew has a collection of medieval books in his own personal library.   Matthew currently lives in Toledo, Ohio, and has several favorite hobbies, which includes piano playing, reading, and writing.
