Every Jewish person is required to write a Torah Scroll for oneself. This monumental task can be fulfilled with just writing one letter in the scroll. A Torah that was commissioned by Lower East Side resident, Martin Cohen was completed at the historic Yeshiva, Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem in Manhattan's Lower East Side. This incredible moment was captured by photographs taken by Sid Kaplan and document the writing and completion of this Torah Scroll before it was paraded to Holy Ark at the Congregation Sons of Moses Synagogue located around the corner on Henry Street in the Lower East Side to be used in its services and is still being used in its services today.
