John Matthews is a respected author and scholar who has published over a 150 titles on Myth, Folklore, and ancient traditions. He discovered Sherlock Holmes in his teens and has perused a passion for the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle ever since. He spent two years working on the texts and imagery for The Sherlock Holmes Tarot . He has also made a lifetime study of every aspect of the Arthurian legends, from its origins to modern retellings, which led him to work in the Film industry as an historical advisor and won a BAFTA for his work on the movie King Arthur (2004). Several of his books and decks have become international bestsellers. He offers courses on a variety of subjects and is an active member of many associations such at the UK tarot conference, TABI, OBOD. He lives in Oxford, UK. Wil Kinghan is a writer, artist, and explorer of the Celtic traditions.
He studied archaeology at University College Dublin and environmental design at NCAD in the 1980s before working in advertising and commercial television as an art director, winning awards for various campaigns. He also worked on the feature film Far and Away (unaccredited) on title development and has written and developed concepts for many commercial clients. Working with John Matthews, he has created art for The Cathar Tarot , The Sherlock Holmes Tarot , and The Steampunk Tarot . He is currently working on a series of sci-fi novels.
