Vivid photographs, range maps, data profiles and lively, fact-filled commentaries introduce 24 animals now being rescued from extinction through captive-breeding programs in zoos and animal-research centers. These appealing offspring-of the bald eagle, fishing cat, zebra duiker, reticulated python, and many others-could have disappeared.
