Andrew McDonald lives in Coventry, UK and is married with four daughters and two grandchildren. He works full time at Royal Mail as a postman, but dreams of one day being able to write full time. He loves Doctor Who and it was this love that made him write for his own enjoyment, then short stories for his children as they were growing up. It wouldn't be until his mid-forties that Andrew decided that his hobby could be turned into a career and submitted a short story to a Doctor Who project, which got accepted. This was followed by entering a short story called Belly of the Beast into a competition and after it finished in the top three Andrew would then go on to write longer stories. It wouldn't be until 2016 that Andrew would self-publish his first full length novel Rain on Amazon and then three further short stories would soon follow. In 2018 he signed a contract with American based company Words matter publishing to release a family orientated novel about the effects of bullying called School for Apes. Further short stories would follow until 2020 he would release his third novel called Deadfall around the start of the coronavirus epidemic.
The story would bizarrely mirror many of the problems the world would face around this time. Andrew continues to write although he finds it difficult to fit it in with work and caring for an ailing father. He believes everyone has a story to tell, but not necessarily the time to tell it.
