Dr Tim McDonald is Associate Professor of Student Engagement and Behaviour Management at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. Tim has been a classroom teacher, Year Coordinator, Head of Department, R.E./Deputy and has worked with both primary and secondary aged students in Australia and the UK. Tim has worked with challenging students in mainstream as well as in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the UK that works with 14-16 year olds for whom mainstream education is no longer appropriate. Tim has worked with schools on classroom management and instruction skills as well as being invited to be the keynote speaker at classroom management and student attendance conferences. Tim is currently directing a longitudinal study that is investigating the relationship between a student's classroom behaviour and his/her academic achievement.
