Jess McGeachin is an author and illustrator from Melbourne, Australia. Growing up with a scientific illustrator for a mum, Jess developed a love of natural history from an early age. He's written and illustrated twelve fiction and nonfiction picture books, including When We Fly , which received a starred review from Kirkus . In 2023 he joined an expedition to Macquarie Island in the subantarctic which led to the creation of the nonfiction picture book South with the Seabirds . Jess also works for a museum where he's lucky enough to talk to the dinosaurs and occasionally get lost in the basement.
