Paralyzed on a dark road in the mountains, conversing with a dying dog, a young traveler is taken to a tiny hamlet to recoup in the house of a beautiful but silent local woman. A man is beaten by his family near to death over the purchase of a ping pong table. Three misfits watch a cat and mouse game play out between two over dressed bounty hunters and a world famous female fugitive along the banks of the Mekong River. Tastes Like Chicken is a collection of eleven pieces as humorous as they are disturbing and as surreal as they are grounded in a place the author knows and describes with intimate focus. Short fiction inspired, set in and written about Thailand over the last ten years of living in the country.
