A welcome pedagogical tool, emphasizing self-learning and immediatefeedback. Opening chapters deal with clinical reasoning in examination,diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. Case studies are presented in twoparts. The first part provides the initial history and clinicalfindings. The reader is then invited to form some initial impressionsconcerning diagnosis and treatment. The case then continues with apartial solution to the case based on the findings so far andtreatment initiated. The patient's response to treatment would be notedand the reader again invited to determine which other, if any questionsasked or clinical tests asked are necessary. The final, "debriefing"portion of the case is devoted to providing the solution, where thediagnosis and appropriate course of action are described.

In this part,salient points for the examination and the patient's responses totreatment are described that led to the selected diagnosis/management.
