Cormier Genealogy: Generations 1-7 chronicled the early history and genealogy of the Cormier family in North America. Beginning with the immigrant ancestor, Robert Cormier, who sailed with his family on the 70-ton vessel Le Petit Saint-Pierre from La Rochelle, France, to Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), in the spring of 1644, the saga continued across seven generations, through their forced deportation and years in exile, to their resettlement on new lands. In Cormier Genealogy II: Southeastern New Brunswick Generations 7-9 their family story continues. The Cormiers who settled in southeastern New Brunswick in the 1780s were the children and grandchildren of Pierre dit Palette Cormier and Cécile Thibodeau. Due to the sheer number of Cormier descendants in the area, this well-documented genealogy has been divided into two volumes: Part 1 follows the Cormier descendants of Pierre and Cécile's sons Pierre dit Pierrot à Nannette Cormier and François Cormier; and Part 2 follows the Cormier descendants of their sons Amand Cormier and Jacques Cormier. In both cases, the genealogy begins with Pierre and Cécile's grandsons, who were descendants in the seventh generation from their immigrant ancestor, Robert Cormier, and continues through generation nine, with a list of children in generation ten.
