Cormier Genealogy: Generations 1-7 chronicled the early history and genealogy of the Cormier family in North America. Beginning with the immigrant ancestor, Robert Cormier, who sailed with his family on the 70-ton vessel Le Petit Saint-Pierre from La Rochelle, France, to Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), in the spring of 1644, the saga continued across seven generations, through their forced deportation and years in exile, to their resettlement on new lands. In Cormier Descendants of Pierre Cormier and Marie-Rosalie Godin the Cormier family story continues. In 1792, Pierre Cormier (1756-1824), Robert's great-great-great grandson, was recorded at Village-d'en-Haut (Montagne - Memramcook West) along the west shore of the Memramcook River in New Brunswick, where he and his family made their home as farmers. Pierre and his wife, Marie-Rosalie Godin, had 17 children - all except one married and left descendants. Presented here in this well-documented genealogy are Pierre and Marie-Rosalie's Cormier descendants from the late eighteenth century up until those born in the early twentieth century across Canada and the United States.
