Besides my business partner, Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon, one of my other all-time favorite football players was quarterback Jim McMahon. Enjoying an illustrious fourteen year career in the NFL, McMahon was one of the toughest, hard-working players I''ve ever had the extreme good fortune to watch. Although he played with a few teams during his tenure, his stint with the Chicago Bears was the most memorable, and one particular game in 1985, the year the Bears won the Super Bowl, I believe best exemplifies his character. McMahon was suffering from a back injury that required a two-night hospital stay and traction, and he''d missed practice the week leading up to their game against the Vikings. On game day, Bears Coach Mike Ditka took one look at his QB, who also had a leg infection, and said, "You''re not playing." McMahon smirked, "There''s no possibility I''m not playing." Ditka kept McMahon on the bench for three quarters, and the Bears, well, sucked. Finally, after relentless badgering by McMahon, Ditka put him in - and the team, as one, immediately came alive.

On his first play in, McMahon called an audible and launched a bullet to Willie Gault. One play, 70 yards, touchdown. The Bears then got possession on a fumble. McMahon called another audible, and this time hit Dennis McKinnon in the end zone. Two plays, two touchdowns. The Bears wiped the field with the Vikings after that. Not only does this show McMahon''s ability to overcome adversity, but it''s also an excellent analogy of how one person can inspire a host of others to peak performance or to thrive. By being your best, you are transformed, and you automatically transform others around you.

I, myself, experienced a major transformation, and I am here to transform you. At the time of my life when I looked to have it all, I was actually lost and quickly heading in the wrong direction. My downward spiral, however, turned out to be a necessary journey. Along the way, I found the recipe for success that allowed me to reinvent myself, find true peace and happiness, and inspire others. My goal now is to save you the time and money I spent and lost - and make your journey easier than mine. From someone who has gone from rags to riches, back to rags, then back to riches, I promise you that my formula for achievement works - my seven Principles, each with its own four Key Elements. You will enjoy fulfillment and prosperity, and be able to manifest what you desire more accurately and rapidly. But most importantly, you will be happy and feel good.

In fact, if you follow my seven interrelated Principles, not only will you attain success beyond your wildest imagination, but you''ll be able to go one step further and help others to thrive. Individuals like Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, Paul Allen of Microsoft, and former NFL quarterback Warren Moon experienced this same transformation; and not only did they thrive, but like the Chicago Bears when Jim McMahon entered the game, others around them thrived too. Yes, I''ve been blessed with many brilliant mentors over the years, all of whom have been exceptionally generous with their wisdom. Some of them readily shared their knowledge, while others set an example by their actions, both good and bad. For instance, when I was CEO for sports "Super Agent" Leigh Steinberg (the movie Jerry Maguire was based on Leigh), he accelerated my growth by providing me unbelievable advice even though he was struggling with his own transformation. Beyond "do as I say, not as I do," Leigh simply said, "Dave, if you ever are wondering what to do when it comes to business, just remember - never negotiate to the last penny, always be fair, and don''t do business with dicks." But let me also credit the least famous of all my mentors, my grandfather, who planted the seeds with respect to my basic philosophies of what I now strive for in life - to make lots of money, help lots of people, and have lots of fun. This is also my mantra, mission statement and vision that I chant and meditate on.

My grandfather had told me that you only require three things in life to be happy: "You need to find one partner who is your liaison between you, your family, and your friends. You need to find one job that you love. And, finally, you need to buy the best bed that you can find." These pearls of wisdom transformed into my business and life objectives. The first pearl about "you and your spouse or partner as the liaison" became, in part, my objective to "help a lot of people". "Make a lot of money" came from being passionate about work. And "having lots of fun", well, that has a lot to do with my grandfather''s advice about the "bed". Every day I now am able to easily manifest my desires, and if you follow my Principles, you will be able to manifest whatever it is you want as well.

But, morphing from my grandfather''s to my more modern, aligned philosophies did not come by accident or coincidence. Like I''ve said, I needed to stumble along the way. We all need to travel on our own journeys. The voyage is where each of us learns, and nothing can be more rewarding than overcoming adversity. But I want you to avoid many of the trips and falls that I experienced. I want you to be like the many athletes and celebrities who I have helped through their own self-actualization and transformation. I want you to be able to enjoy the rewards and satisfaction that emanates from my three basic philosophies. I want you to learn from my seven Principles so that you, too, will become enlightened and manifest whatever it is you want in life and in business.

My goal is to get you to thrive, meaning to manifest anything and everything you could ever want in life and in business and to perpetuate that manifestation for yourself and others. I promise you, the universe is abundant. There is enough of everything for everybody. Get ready for an immense and exciting transformation in how you do business and live your life. Get ready to thrive! Overview There are seven interconnected Principles that are applicable to our lives in general and just as relevant to more specific pursuits, such as business. Each of these seven Principles, in turn, I support with four components called Key Elements. The goal or objective attained in performing the Key Elements is to thrive, in a technical and spiritual sense, creating an energy that scales itself by generating its own "like-kind" energy. To demonstrate the importance of Keys, consider what you would do if a great wall impeded your path.

Would you attempt to climb over it, burrow underneath it, walk all the way around it, try to blow it up? The easiest solution would be for you to find a doorway and a small Key to unlock the door in that huge wall. The point is that you don''t need to spend days, weeks or years stressing over seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Instead, you''ll be amazed by the great things that will open up to you by simply utilizing these Keys. You must learn how to "get out of your own way", which is another term for connecting to goodness or, as I like to define it, "source" or "source energy". I''m going to provide you with all of the Keys for life and business to help you to easily open the doors and walk right though the biggest walls or challenges that you will face. Ultimately, we want to create a legacy where we not only put things out into the universe in a certain way that will come back to us twofold, but also where what we empower creates a similar energy. We can manifest things on an individual plane, but if we scale or empower others with our energy and create collective beliefs and collective energy, we can manifest things on a global scale, like world peace. In a business scenario, the most successful businesses thrive by having a good portion of.
