Many boys from small towns in the Midwest dream of searching for gold and precious stones, living off the land and sleeping under the stars, riding the faraway mountains in search of adventure. Others dream of making it in the city, running a huge governmental agency, become a real estate tycoon or producing a Broadway show. And there are those other guys like Jim Miles who just follow the trails where they lead into the cities and up to the mountain tops and finally to the greatest trail of the spirit where all the paths converge. An immensely readable story of the paths less taken. Book jacket.
