Mary Ellen Miller is former dean of Yale College, and now directs the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. Her book with Linda Schele, The Blood of Kings: Dynasty and Ritual in Maya Art , is considered a landmark in Maya studies. Michael D. Coe (1929- 2019) was Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Yale University and Curator Emeritus for the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University. His books include The Maya , Mexico , and Breaking the Maya Code .
