Rollercoaster: A Life in Twenty-Nine Jobs is a memoir about the author's widely varied jobs, from journalist, professor, and government official, to night watchman, driver for a printing company, and househusband. The memoir also includes portraits of several prominent people he came to know during the twenty years he worked in Washington, including Irving Kristol, Sidney Hook, James Buckley, Walter Laqueur, and Jan Nowak.
