Andrew Morris has been a freelance translator since 2009, working from French into English and specialising in the arts, culture and tourism. He runs a small but perfectly formed translation studio by the name of Morristraduction. His previous job experience includes language teaching, teacher training, part-time journalism, working as a waiter in a pizzeria (thankfully only for six months as a student) and playing the piano in a psychiatric hospital. But not in that order.Other equally colourful experiences include two years spent living in a hut in a remote valley in North-East Africa, playing saxophone in a concert on New York's Broadway with a Bangladeshi folk-rock band and the day he met his partner Brigitte when they discovered they were both reading the same book, on a train between Paris and Rouen. The title? 'Le Livre des Coincidences'.He has worked long-term in ten countries, visited over 50, and learned more languages than he can now remember. He now lives, writes and translates in Provence in the South of France.
