This fascinating account of the Cape's indigenous people traces the origins and history of the San hunter-gatherers, whose ancestry in southern Africa dates back at least 120,000 years, and the Khoekhoe herders, who arrived in the south-western Cape about 2000 years ago. The author uncovers the rich history of the indigenous people of the Cape: Stone Age people, the San and the Khoikhoi, as well as the Griqua.
