Parents, dead and gone.  An uncle, cold and vanishing.  A treasure, waiting to be found.  A love, ready to blossom.  A world to explore.  Felix Goldendale lives with his callous Uncle Lem in a quaint cabin in the forested Cascade mountains.  His parents are dead.  His life is lonely.

 His attitude is mature and cheerful.  He is but sixteen years old.  One day, a sinister stranger appears at Felix and Lem's cabin, and this man is looking for Lem.  Feeling something amiss, Felix tells the stranger that his uncle is in another town.  The stranger departs.  When Uncle Lem hears of the stranger, the news troubles his weak heart, and he decamps at once from the house.  Felix follows Lem into the forest, and he discovers that Lem knows of another world, The Dreameyrie, where a vast treasure has been secreted against the possibility of Lem's eventual return.  In The Dreameyrie, Felix begins the hunt for this treasure.

 But his uncle soon abandons him, and Felix must take up with strangers, a man named Mastiffson and his daughter, Sierra.  Their adventures lead them across the Dreameyrie.  Along the way, Sierra and Felix encounter pirates, dragons, and wizards.  They are shipwrecked, enchanted, and kidnapped by bandits.  They begin to fall in love.The Dreameyrie is at once an atmospheric fantasy adventure novel for young adults and a coming of age story.  It is a timeless tale, one of romance and survival, of good and evil, of life and death.
