David Murphy is an author from Ponca City, Oklahoma. His previous works include: The Natural World; poetry book, 2024 October 12. In addition to being an energetic author, David has many other interests.

He enjoys spending time with his family. He also likes animals, chess, firearms, hiking, the natural world, reading, skateboarding, sports, traveling, and watches. David grew up between Oklahoma and Louisiana, received his Bachelor's from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, and his Master's from Kansas State University in Manhattan. He went to work in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan from 2008 - 2010 on a World Bank project during the war. He then worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a year, followed by a couple of English Language Fellowships in Mexico. After that, he worked in Olympia, Washington for four years. He then moved to Sayulita, Mexico at the end of 2018 to write full time. He still lives in Nayarit, now in an ejido outside of Tepic.

He has a lovely partner, Emma, and three dogs: Velvet, Tigre, and Cachemira (more commonly known as Shark). He considers himself to be generally very lucky, happy, and healthy.
