How To Stay Out Of Prison is a booklet by Dan A. Myers, MD, a psychiatrist who is a Christian, summarizing his experience teaching a 16-month theology course to 134 prisoners at Hutchins State Prison, located about 20 miles from Dallas, Texas. Although the booklet was intended as a review for the prisoners to use after release, the material has been found helpful to Christians outside of prison whose faith has become lukewarm or as Christ said in Revelation 3:16, "like warm spit." The section dealing with the Devil's use of substance abuse as a weapon to destroy those not protected by God's armor (Ephesians 6:13-18) is particularly relevant for today's young people. Dr. Myers discovered that his prisoners were not that much different from the rest of us. Except for life circumstances or God's grace, most of us could have been in and they out.
