Based on a true story, 19 year old Sam Crawford joins the Army Air Corp during WWII and tries to overcome his father's prediction that he will be a coward like his father was in WWI. Flying over enemy territory, hitting bombing targets, losing best friends in arial combat, and falling in love with beautiful young women in Italy and Russia make Sam grow up fast and lead him to a place he never dreamed he would be.
