Advaita Vedanta suggests that human consciousness is not limited to just our waking state. In fact, it posits that there are three main states of consciousness: waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. While most philosophical and scientific systems focus solely on the waking state for knowledge and understanding, Advaita Vedanta takes a more holistic approach by giving equal importance to all three states.
