A resident of northern New Mexico since 1981, Sharon Niederman has edited and written four previous books about the region, two of which have won the Border Regional Library Association Award for literary excellence and enrichment of the cultural heritage of the Southwest. Her dining column in Crosswinds Weekly is widely read, as are her articles for Sunset, New Mexico Magazine, the Santa Fe New Mexican and many other regional publications. She is a writer with the New Mexico Heritage Preservation Alliance and a member of the Society of American Travel Writers. She lives in Albuquerque.
