It doesn't matter what causes us to do so; the important thing to recognize is that we cannot stay in that place of regret and guilt. Take your brokenness and repentance to your Savior and lay it at the foot of the cross. Allow the blood from his hands and feet to wash it away. Get the poison out of your heart and mind, and let it go. There is no sin that he will not forgive if you but ask for his mercy, and there will be rejoicing by the angels in heaven for your penitence and wisdom. (Luke 15:10) When you let go of your sins they are no longer a stumbling block for you.

the wicked, however, will continue to stumble over their old failures as well as their new ones so long as they fail to come to Jesus for forgiveness, salvation and release. Be free. Lord Jesus: Thank you for your mercy and loving-kindness.
