By: John Noble, Pub. 1904, reprinted 2025, 302 pages, Index, soft cover, ISBN #978-1-63914-655-0. The Massachusetts Bay Colony was an English settlement that covered much of central New England, including portions of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Connecticut. This settlement was considered a success with approximately 20,000 puritan immigrants. The records of the Court of Assistants are public documents during the period of Colonial Charter (1629-1686). These records include testimonies, depositions, writs, warrants, bonds and divorce petitions. The Court of Assistants was a predecessor of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and heard criminal cases, divorces and some civil cases and appeals. The records within this volume #2 cover the years 1630-1644.
