Ali Nomad was a pseudonym of Alexander McIvor-Tyndall, a hypnotist, showman and speaker who worked in London. He would variously lecture on the mental capacities of spiritualism in mankind, and would also practice palmistry upon those who attended his talks.

He would go on to found the International New Thought Fellowship, which promoted the spiritual outlook of the author and fellow like-minded thinkers.
