Kathleen Sturgess Ouimet grew up in Unadilla, NY. In her retirement years she continues to walk the local cemeteries and photograph the gravestones. She has combined her genealogical skills and that love of cemeteries to further preserve the markers by writing books to relate the many stories that are beneath the stones. She is a member of DAR, Civil War Society, Colonial Dames and the Mayflower Society. She has recently retired as the Afton, NY Town Historian and is currently working on several more books about Unadilla cemeteries.
