Each PBC volume divides the Bible text into sections that are covered in a series of two page reflections, with concluding prayer or point for reflection. An introductory section covers issues of authorship, background and so on, including a list of books for further study. The second book in Jewish and Christian scriptures, Exodus is filled with drama and pathos, treachery and deceit, heroism and love. It provides the backdrop against which the covenant is established at Mount Sinai, and sets the stage for Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. It also invites us to look at the ways in which God acts in our own lives, calling us into a deeper relationship with him.
