Dennis Pahl, who lives in Kew Gardens, New York, is a professor of English at Long Island University. He has published many scholarly articles on nineteenth-century American literature and his short stories have appeared in such literary journals as Confrontation, Epiphany Magazine, Vestal Review, The Absurdist Magazine, New Feral Press, and JONAH Magazine. He was chosen as a finalist for the 2023 Calvino Prize in Fabulist Fiction. Some of his stories have been adapted into award-winning short films.
