For Arts Sake When reclusive widower, Arthur Du Fuss, creator of the cult board game Chancery, commits suicide, his neighbours in The Close receive post mortem invitations to the offices of charismatic lawyer, Sepp Stoehlheim, where they are invited to play a customised version of the game. The prize at stake is Arthurs fortune. That evening, as they play, they discover not only the depth of Arthurs contempt for them, but also the fragility of their own relationships, with tragic, horrifying consequences. But, as Stoehlheims true identity and motives are revealed, Arthur, too, learns something - that revenge has a price. In the Laptops of the Gods Three mutants, devoid of all five senses, are the gruesome by-products of an IT companys latest project. However, these sad children prove capable of extraordinary feats of programming and the company gains a sinister stranglehold on the market. The mutants prove to be perfect vessels for three ancient gods to restore their fading, corrupt energies. Over time, the deities grow bored with their business oligarchy and seek a victim for punishment, to demonstrate their primal powers.
