It's 1970, and DH has recorded an extraordinary series of events since he put pen to paper in his first journal in 1965. Even with the support of his network of good friends throughout the highs and lows of the past five years, he is still unsure of what path to follow into his future. Meanwhile, DH's best friend Manny, a musician, has succumbed to the Siren's Call and is moving to Pacific Grove to pursue his dream. Restless, plagued by artistic frustration, and let down by love yet again, DH throws caution to the wind and goes with him. Arriving in Pacific Grove, DH finds a veritable Paradise of ocean, charm, and history. While searching for doors to open for his future, DH meets some wonderful people, nearly falls in love, and discovers answers to many of the more profound questions about his life and destiny. At a pivotal moment, DH meets Sanchez, the lead detective in the Pacific Grove Police Department, and he tells him how his psychic abilities became known while observing the police in his hometown work on a case. Much to his surprise, Sanchez later asks DH to use his special abilities on a case that has the police completely baffled.

DH is able to relay key information from his "Buddies in the Beyond," and as the dramatic and life-threatening case concludes, DH realizes why he came to Paradise and exactly what to do with the rest of his life. During his sojourn in Paradise, he makes two significant discoveries: 1. Every Earthly Paradise has its snakes. Discouragement and Danger lurk in the shadows. 2. His emerging psychic/intuitive skills are much more powerful than he once thought them to be. Biding Time in Paradise marks the closure of The Sixties Journal and a glimpse into the possible future of DH to be discovered in the next series.
