These are not just pretty pictures. These are not colorful portraits. Jason Pearson has created art for many notables including David Bowie, Trent Reznor, Mel Gibson, Gil Scott-Heron and Aphex Twin. With private collectors in Chicago, San Francisco, Paris, Dubai and Qatar, Pearson's work is also featured in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and Victoria and Albert Museum. Pearson works actively with strategic NGOs on human rights and poverty issues-providing poignant inspiration for his creative work. These large, black and white oil paintings are based on Pope Francis's Misericordiae Vultus for the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. Each painting is pulled from a passage on justice, forgiveness, the marginalized, enslaved, persecuted and the sick. Pearson says "These paintings are not indictments but confessions.
