Katie Melrose is a children's book illustrator whose love for art and reading was cultivated at a young age by her parents. You'll mostly find her with a good book or a drawing pen, but when she's without, she'll be in the kitchen, cooking up a storm and pretending she's a chef in her home in sunny California. Kirsten Pendreigh is a journalist, poet, and author. Formerly a reporter and producer with NPR and CBC, she now writes nonfiction and fiction books for children.
