Michael S. Phillips, PsyD., LMHC, NCC is a licensed mental health counselor who specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief & loss, post-traumatic stress, and medical problems. Dr. Phillips has been an active member of the fire/EMS service for almost 35 years. He holds certifications as a level two crisis intervention and anger management specialist, advanced critical incident stress management, and as a clinical traumatologist. As the director of the Center for Coping Wellness Division, Dr. Phillips is a certified instructor for numerous American Red Cross programs, and an expert in safety and wellness.
Dr. Phillips has presented programs to youth and adult groups and organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area as well as internationally. Dr. Phillips holds a Doctor of Psychology degree and a post-doctoral certificate in professional pastoral counseling from California Southern University, a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and a second Master of Science degree in Health Education from Hofstra University. Dr. Phillips serves as a member of the Nassau County Fire Commission Critical Incident Stress Management Team and the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Team.
