Conquering the audition process and mastering the necessary tools to book the part is a skill each actor must perfect to survive as a professional. PART 1: The Audition, is a handbook for any actor auditioning for any venue, be it television, film, theater, a commercial, or a webisode. We follow the actor as he travels through waiting in the lobby, walking into the audition room, the audition itself, the people he encounters in the room, and finally exiting the audition room. Many questions are answered in the actor's quest to conquer the audition process and master the necessary tools to book the part. PART 2: Auditioning For A Series-Regular Role follows the "Pre-Read-To-Network" format that I taught in my audition workshops. The actor is guided through the four steps it typically takes to book a series-regular role on a Network television series: 1. The Pre-Read with the Casting Director 2. The Callback for Producers 3.

Reading for Studio Executives 4. Testing at the Network Even though the format in PART 2 is specifically geared toward auditioning for television, all actors in every medium will find invaluable information that will apply to their individual audition circumstances. And the protocol of negotiating a money deal before hiring an actor is standard practice in film, commercials, theater, as well as television. PART 3: The New Normal Of Auditioning has been added for this second edition of The Audition Bible to stay current, as enormous changes transformed our world during the COVID-19 pandemic. Self-taped auditions had already begun to infiltrate the casting process pre-pandemic, but during the lockdown, casting directors began asking actors to submit self-tapes in lieu of coming in live to the audition room. The equipment needed to produce a quality self-tape from home thrust the actor into acquiring new technical skills.
