Elizabeth Raum has written dozens of nonfiction books about history, as well as several historical novels. A recent novel, A Kidnapping in Kentucky, 1776, also published by Chicken Scratch Books, is based on a real event: the kidnapping of Daniel Boone's daughter, Jemima, age 13, and her two friends. In Boy With A Fife, she explores the early days of the American Revolution, calling on memories of a childhood spent in Vermont and New Hampshire and on the memoir of Ebenezer Fletcher, which she found in her family genealogy. She currently lives in Greeneville, Tennessee, with her husband, Richard, and spends her time reading, writing, and caring for two backyard chickens.
