Theresa Reed is the Director of Training for Turtlesea Group, LLC which has been a consultant with Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) for the last three years. She is also is the Program Director for the Foster/Kinship Care Education and STARS Advisor to foster youth for 13 years. Ms. Reed holds degrees in economics with a specialization in Social Behavioral Science a master's degree in education with an emphasis on adult education and is pursuing her EdD, focused on adult learners.As a former foster youth, it is her passion to train and educate foster youth, foster parents and those working with our most vulnerable students. As one of the co-developers of the STARS resource centers on-site at four schools within PUSD, Theresa provides weekly sessions with middle and high school students designed to build community and encourage students to explore their potential. Aside from the resource centers, she conducts workshops at the remaining middle and high schools on college readiness and human trafficking. She is currently contracted to provide the YMHFA trainings for PUSD.


Previously, she was a life skills trainer for youth ages 14-18. Theresa has presented workshops at numerous conferences and provides professional development to colleges and the local K-12 district staff on the impact of trauma on foster youth and resiliency workshops directly to college students.
